Sheffield’s Shakespeare is a relaxed and inclusive community reading group. Our aim is to bring together a wide range of people to read through the complete works of Shakespeare – at our own pace!

As well as the sheer pleasure of sharing in the beauty and brilliance of Shakespeare’s plots and poetry, you will meet new people and enjoy a stimulating and sociable evening.

We also like to get involved in community activities and some of us enjoy performing shortened Shakespeare and rehearsed readings in public settings. Here we are after our performance at the Broomhill Festival in June 2015:

We meet weekly in the Eten Café at 6pm for tea, reading and lively chat. Take on a major role, read minor roles or just listen to the shared reading; you can participate in the group in your own way.

Everyone is welcome – whether you are a bard fanatic, just want to spend an interesting evening reading with others or have even been turned off Shakespeare in the past! No commitment; no fees; no pressure!
